Ah, but is it really “elegant”?

An elegant tapestry of quotations, musings, aphorisms, and autobiographical reflections. ~ James Atlas

I’ve used this as blog description for years. But, is my blog really “elegant” or do I just wish it so? Is it even anywhere close to what Mr. Atlas had in mind when he said this?

question-2309040_640Maybe it should be something like … “Humorous, observant, reflective, insightful, this is who I am”? The blog needs a facelift just as my life could use a few nips and tucks. I’ve been away from it for too long; I’ve been away from my life for too long. Just marking days.

I’ve decided to take the National Novel Writing Month challenge. I haven’t done it in a while, but it always dusts away a few cobwebs so now seems like a good time.

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.

As always, I am plot-deprived and not even sure I could write around a plot anyway. So, I’ve decided to write from prompts. One a day for 30 days, trying to make at least 1667 words a day. And, I’m going to do it here. WordPress has changed since I was last here, so there’s going to be a steep learning curve on “how do I…?” topics.

This will be an interesting month, as I have an outside project that I need to finish asap, in addition to keeping up with PT appointments (two injuries…ugh), helping with remodel on a house we just bought, and dealing with the demons. (Each of those seem likely prompts now that I think about it.)

Back to square one. This isn’t an elegant blog. Life isn’t elegant. Right now it’s just OK. (305 words)

I'm a writer making my way through life and offering observations as I go. Old enough to know better but that doesn't stop me.
